# Attio

Create an Attio access token and send it to us. About 3 minutes.

## Before you start

- Log in details for an Attio user who is a workspace admin.
- [OneTimeSecret](https://eu.onetimesecret.com) open in another tab. You will use it to send the token. [How it works](https://guide.upliftedconsulting.com/start-here/sending-securely.md).

## Get your access token

### Step 1: Open Workspace settings

Log in to [app.attio.com](https://app.attio.com). Click the small arrow next to your workspace name (top left). Click **Workspace settings**.

### Step 2: Go to Developers

Click the **Developers** tab.

### Step 3: Create a new token

Click **+ New access token**. Type a name, for example "Uplifted Consulting".

### Step 4: Set the scopes

In **Scopes**, give the token access to what we need. Unless we told you otherwise, set these to read and write:
- Records
- Object configuration
- List entries
- List configuration

And set **User management** to read.

> **Tip:**
> Records need **Object configuration** too. If you only tick Records, the token won't work.

### Step 5: Copy the token

Save the token, then copy it.

> **Careful:**
> Copy the whole token. It is a long string of letters and numbers.

## Send it to us

- [Send it with OneTimeSecret](https://guide.upliftedconsulting.com/start-here/sending-securely.md): Paste the token into OneTimeSecret, create the link, and send us **only the link**. Label it "Attio access token".

## Something not right?

### I don't see the Developers tab

Only workspace admins can see it. Ask an admin to do these steps, or to make you an admin.

### I set the wrong scopes

No problem. On the **Developers** page, click the three dots next to the token and choose **Edit**. Change the scopes and save. The token stays the same.

### Does the token expire?

No. It works until someone deletes it. To remove our access later, click the three dots next to it and choose **Delete**.
