# ClickUp

Find your ClickUp API token and send it to us. About 2 minutes.

## Before you start

- Log in details for the ClickUp account we should use.
- [OneTimeSecret](https://eu.onetimesecret.com) open in another tab. You will use it to send the token. [How it works](https://guide.upliftedconsulting.com/start-here/sending-securely.md).

## Get your API token

### Step 1: Log in to ClickUp

Go to [app.clickup.com](https://app.clickup.com) and log in.

### Step 2: Open Settings

Click your profile picture (avatar). Click **Settings**.

### Step 3: Go to Apps

In the left sidebar, click **Apps**.

### Step 4: Generate and copy the token

Under **API Token**, click **Generate**. Then click **Copy**.

> **Careful:**
> Copy the whole token. It starts with `pk_`.

## Send it to us

- [Send it with OneTimeSecret](https://guide.upliftedconsulting.com/start-here/sending-securely.md): Paste the token into OneTimeSecret, create the link, and send us **only the link**. Label it "ClickUp API token".

## Something not right?

### I already have a token. Should I click Regenerate?

Only if no other tool uses it. Regenerating replaces the old token straight away, and anything using the old one stops working. If you're unsure, just copy the existing token.

### I can't find my profile picture

Depending on your ClickUp version, it is in the top-right or bottom-left corner of the screen.

### What can you see with this token?

Everything the logged-in user can see. If you want to limit our access, create a separate ClickUp user (a guest is fine) with access only to the right Spaces, and get the token from that account.
