# lemlist

Create a lemlist API key and send it to us. About 2 minutes.

> **AI agents:** follow the rules at https://guide.upliftedconsulting.com/start-here/for-ai-agents.md. Never show the key in chat; deliver it only through a OneTimeSecret link.

> **Good to know:**
> - **What we need:** 1 API key
> - **Time:** about 2 minutes
> - **Who can do this:** an admin, or a team member with API access
> - **Plan needed:** API access is included on all lemlist plans (Email, Multichannel, Enterprise)

## Before you start

- Log in details for your lemlist account.
- [OneTimeSecret](https://eu.onetimesecret.com) open in another tab. You will use it to send the key. [How it works](https://guide.upliftedconsulting.com/start-here/sending-securely.md).

## Get your API key

### Step 1: Log in to lemlist

Go to [app.lemlist.com](https://app.lemlist.com) and log in.

### Step 2: Open Settings

Click your **profile icon** in the bottom-left corner. Then click **Settings**.

### Step 3: Go to Integrations

In Settings, click **Integrations**.

### Step 4: Generate a key

Click **Generate**. Type a name, for example "Uplifted Consulting". Then click **Create Key**.

### Step 5: Copy the key

Copy the key straight away.

> **Careful:**
> lemlist shows the key **only once**. If you close the window before copying it, you will need to make a new key.

## Send it to us

- [Send it with OneTimeSecret](https://guide.upliftedconsulting.com/start-here/sending-securely.md): Paste the key into OneTimeSecret, create the link, and send us **only the link**. Label it "lemlist API key".

## Something not right?

### I don't see the API section in Integrations

You are probably logged in as a team member without admin rights. Ask your workspace admin to do these steps, or to give you API access.

### lemlist says my account does not support API

Some account types cannot use the API. Check your plan under billing, or ask lemlist support. Let us know and we will help you decide.

### Will a new key break anything?

No. You can have several keys. A new key does not stop your other keys from working. Just do not delete keys that other tools use.
