# Moneybird

Create a Moneybird API token, find your administration ID, and send both to us. About 4 minutes.

## Before you start

- Log in details for your Moneybird account.
- [OneTimeSecret](https://eu.onetimesecret.com) open in another tab. You will use it to send the token. [How it works](https://guide.upliftedconsulting.com/start-here/sending-securely.md).

## Part 1: get your API token

### Step 1: Open the new-token page

Log in to Moneybird. Then go to [moneybird.com/user/applications/new](https://moneybird.com/user/applications/new).

### Step 2: Choose a personal API token

Moneybird asks what you want to create. Choose the **personal API token** option (not the external application).

### Step 3: Name it

Type a name, for example "Uplifted Consulting".

### Step 4: Tick the permissions

Tick the boxes for the parts we need. Unless we told you otherwise:
- `sales_invoices`
- `documents`
- `bank`
- `settings`

Leave the others unticked.

### Step 5: Create and copy the token

Click **Create**. Copy the token that appears.

> **Careful:**
> Treat this token like a password. Copy the whole thing.

## Part 2: find your administration ID

Your "administration" is your company file in Moneybird. Each one has a number.

### Step 1: Open your administration

Go to [moneybird.com](https://moneybird.com) and open the company you want us to work on.

### Step 2: Copy the number from the address bar

Look at the web address at the top. The long number right after `moneybird.com/` is your administration ID.
Example: `moneybird.com/`**`123456789012345678`**`/sales_invoices`

The administration ID is not secret. You can send it in a normal email, or paste it into the same OneTimeSecret message as the token.

## Send it to us

- [Send it with OneTimeSecret](https://guide.upliftedconsulting.com/start-here/sending-securely.md): Paste the token (and the administration ID) into OneTimeSecret, create the link, and send us **only the link**. Label it "Moneybird API token".

## Something not right?

### I have more than one company in Moneybird

The token works for every company you can access. Send us the administration ID of each company we should work on.

### The link to the new-token page doesn't work

Make sure you are logged in to Moneybird first, then open the link again.

### How do I remove your access later?

Go back to your applications page in Moneybird and delete the token. It stops working straight away.
