# Prospeo

Find your Prospeo API key and send it to us. About 2 minutes.

> - **Plan needed:** none. Prospeo gives API access to all users, including free accounts. Each search still uses your credits.

## Before you start

- Log in details for your Prospeo account.
- [OneTimeSecret](https://eu.onetimesecret.com) open in another tab. You will use it to send the key. [How it works](https://guide.upliftedconsulting.com/start-here/sending-securely.md).

## Get your API key

### Step 1: Log in to Prospeo

Go to [app.prospeo.io](https://app.prospeo.io) and log in.

### Step 2: Open the API page

Go to [app.prospeo.io/api](https://app.prospeo.io/api). This is where your API keys live.

### Step 3: Create a key if needed

If you see no key, use the button on this page to create one. Prospeo lets you have more than one key, so you can make one just for us. Name it "Uplifted Consulting" if asked.

### Step 4: Copy the key

Click copy next to the key.

> **Careful:**
> Copy the whole key. It is a long string of letters and numbers.

## Send it to us

- [Send it with OneTimeSecret](https://guide.upliftedconsulting.com/start-here/sending-securely.md): Paste the key into OneTimeSecret, create the link, and send us **only the link**. Label it "Prospeo API key".

## Something not right?

### The API page will not open

Make sure you are logged in first, then open the link again. If it still fails, look for **API** in the dashboard menu.

### Will the key use up my credits?

Yes. Every search we run with the key uses credits from your account, just like searching in the app. Tell us if you want us to stay under a limit.

### Will a new key break anything?

No. You can have several keys. A new key does not stop your other keys from working. Just do not delete keys that other tools use.
