- What we need
- 1 API key (API V2)
- Time
- about 3 minutes
- Who can do this
- the workspace owner or an admin
- Plan needed
- API access is included on all Instantly Outreach plans (Growth and up)
Before you start
- Log in details for your Instantly account.
- OneTimeSecret open in another tab. You will use it to send the key. How it works.
Note
Instantly has two API versions. The old one (V1) was switched off in January 2026. Old V1 keys do not work with V2. Please create a new key with the steps below, even if you already have an old one.
Get your API key
Log in to Instantly
Go to app.instantly.ai and log in.
Open Integrations
Go to app.instantly.ai/app/settings/integrations. This is the Integrations page in your settings.
Open API Keys
Click API Keys in the left sidebar.
Create a new key
Click Create API Key.
Name the key
Type a name, for example "Uplifted Consulting". The name is only a label for you.
Choose the scopes
Scopes decide what the key is allowed to do. Choose all:all. This gives full access, so we can work on campaigns, leads, and accounts without asking you for a new key later.
Tip
If you prefer to limit access, tell us first. We will tell you exactly which scopes to tick. Scopes cannot be changed later, so a wrong choice means making a new key.
Create and copy the key
Click Create. Then copy the key straight away.
Careful
Instantly shows the key only once. If you close the window before copying it, you will need to make a new key.
Send it to us
Send it with OneTimeSecret
Paste the key into OneTimeSecret, create the link, and send us only the link. Label it "Instantly API key".
Something not right?
I don't see API Keys in Integrations
You are probably logged in as a team member without admin rights. Ask the workspace owner to do these steps, or to give you admin access.
I closed the window before copying the key
That is fine. Create another key with the same steps. You can delete the one you did not copy.
Will a new key break anything?
No. Instantly lets you have several keys at once. Making a new key does not stop your existing keys or tools from working. Just do not delete keys that other tools use.
