What we need: 1 API key
Time: about 3 minutes
Who can do this: an Upsales admin
Plan needed: the API must be switched on for your account (see step 1). Light use is usually free; Upsales may charge for heavy use.

Before you start

Log in details for an Upsales admin user.
OneTimeSecret open in another tab. You will use it to send the key. How it works.

Get your API key

Check the API is switched on
Click Settings, then Account, then Billing portal. Open Products and check the API is active. If it isn't, activate it there.

If you're not sure, skip this step. If the next steps don't work, come back here.
Open API keys
Click Settings, then Account, then Security, then API keys.
Create a new key
Click New API key. Type a name, for example "Uplifted Consulting".
Generate and copy it
Click Generate key. Copy the key straight away.

Careful
Upsales shows the key only once. Copy it before you close the window.

Paste the key into OneTimeSecret, create the link, and send us only the link. Label it "Upsales API key".

I don't see Security or API keys

You are probably not an admin. Ask an Upsales admin to do these steps.

I closed the window before copying the key

Delete that key (hover over it and click the bin icon). Then create a new one and copy it this time.

Should I reuse a key we already have?

No. Please create a new key just for us. That way you can see what we do, and remove our access without affecting other tools.
