- What we need
- 1 API key and 1 API secret (we need both)
- Time
- about 3 minutes
- Who can do this
- the account owner or a user with access to Settings
- Plan needed
- not stated by ChannelDock. If you can open the API page, you have access.
Before you start
- Log in details for your ChannelDock account.
- OneTimeSecret open in another tab. You will use it to send the key and secret. How it works.
Get your API key and secret
Log in to ChannelDock
Go to channeldock.com and log in.
Open API & Webhooks
Go to Settings, then API & Webhooks.
Tip
Shortcut: open channeldock.com/portal/public/settings/api_keys after logging in. Fulfilment centres use this link instead.
Generate new keys
In the API keys section, click Generate new API keys. Add a description, for example "Uplifted Consulting".
Copy the key and the secret
ChannelDock shows an API key and an API secret. Copy both right away.
Careful
Copy both values. One without the other will not work. The secret may only be shown once.
Send it to us
Send it with OneTimeSecret
Paste the API key and the API secret into one OneTimeSecret note. Put each on its own line and label them. Create the link and send us only the link. Label it "ChannelDock API key and secret".
Something not right?
I don't see Settings or API & Webhooks
You are probably logged in as a user without access to settings. Ask the account owner to do these steps.
I closed the window before copying the secret
Generate a new set of keys and copy both values this time. Then delete the unused set so it does not stay active.
Will new keys break our other tools?
No. ChannelDock lets you have separate keys for each integration. Your existing keys keep working.
